The most amazingly brilliant (funny, beautiful, and kind too!) Jane Hamilton...
She will be reading from her new novel Laura Rider's Masterpiece on Sunday May 17 at 2PM at the Christ Memorial Church, 2440 York in Blue Island. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Call Dan Carroll 708-388-1078 ext 30 for more information.

Skye,
This is so exciting--a real author in Blue Island! Can you tell your fans a little bit about how you met Ms. Hamilton?
Thank you!

Well, I've known her since I was just a blade of grass and she was a soft little apple farmer's bride. She's the reigning oracle in Racine County, Wisconsin, where I grew up--- as well as the best person in the universe, and a great friend to Libraries Everywhere. Her first novel, THE BOOK OF RUTH, which I recommend, really captures the wit and tragedy of our little Wisconsin countryside of rolling hills and stray loons and Love. She's originally from Oak Park--- so she's no stranger to the South Suburbs of Chicago. Come welcome her home!
